I discovered over the weekend that Texas Roadhouse cooks with soybean oil. Also, if you order vinegar and oil so you can do your own salad dressing, the oil on the table is soybean oil.

They can dry grill their steaks and they have sweet potatoes baked not cooked in soy. They were very accomodating.
You are right on! The employees don’t even know what they use and serve. I normally have to tell them to look at the Vegetable Oil box which is labeled the same in large letters and look at the printing under it which tells the type of vegetable oil….
Hey there! Just letting y’all know Texas Roadhouse dips their potatoes in bacon grease (according to my server). As far as I know they are soy safe. Only thing is be aware of the butter given to you – it may be soybean based margarine.
What if I am allergic to soy bean oil? It gives me a bad migraine headache.
Dont use the honey butter they bring with the bread
you can order your steak without the seasoning, and it is ok. the soy is in the seasoning, order with only salt and pepper, and you will get it soy free.
i have done that and i had no problems that way.
Thank you for that! Soy is my nemesis! It’s sometimes difficult to find about soy info on restaurants online or even in person. It’s amazing that people that work in the food industry dont know that vegatable oil is usually soybean oil.
