Our kids are the only kids in America that are tired of McDonald’s because, so far, that’s been one of the few fast-food restaurants where we can reliably get say-free meal for them.
Help keep this site current
DiningWithoutSoy.com is 10 years old!
Our kids have outgrown their soy allergies, but we keep this site running to help everybody else who is going through the same grief.
We'd love to keep this site relevant for every other parent (and person) that has to go through this nightmare. If you collect any information about any organization that serves food, please share it with us and we'll make sure the world knows about it.

Soybean Oil is hidden soy
Because "most" people do not have a reaction to highly refined soybean oil, most restaurants and food labels will not even list food as containing soy if it "merely" contains soybean oil. [read more]
My soy allergy causes me to have a seizure… I learned as an adult that that just so happens to be my related to the soy allergy… The sad part is this is after I had one Temporal lobectomy and Vagus Nerve Stimulation surgery… It is crazy that my doctor found that so late in my life and my surgery was when I was 17…
Hi James,
That’s so sad to hear. It still infuriates me that we’re not getting the straight scoop on soy. I hate to think what kind of grief, misery, and in your case, unnecessary surgeries that people have experienced.
In the past few months I’ve eaten McDonalds hamburger patties (no bun, no condiments) and I’ve begun reacting with my usual soy allergy symptoms–runny nose, red twitchy eyes, small pimples on my nose, hives on throat. I suspect the beef (which is produced by Cargill) was fed GMO corn. I’m done with McDonalds.
McDonald’s now uses soy oil in everything. For many years it was seasonal where half the year they’d use canola oil or palm oil and the other half of the year soy oil. However, with the tariffs, McDonald’s is now soy all year around.
Save yourself the work: When it comes to fast food for 2019, the only large-scale chain that is soy free is Chipotle.
Palm (Not Palm Kernel) would be the winner in that line-up.
I live in Kennesaw, Georgia. I spoke with the manager of a McDonalds on Bellsferry Rd and Hwy 41. She said her son was allergic to soy and he could not eat there. Because the Teflon on the grill that the food is cooked on had soy in the glue that was part of the Teflon. She said her son had reactions to it. I’m not sure how that works but wanted to pass on the information. I have just developed an allergy to soy and it is frustrating trying to find places I can eat. Thank you for this site!
